Insecure Writer’s Support Group: New Year’s Resolutions!

Insecure Writer’s Support Group is a group made, and for, writers, who have some type of insecurity. This blog hop is made to help writers not just express their insecurities (as silly as they think it is) but to help encourage each other and continue to write. So please join and start encouraging others to write! The world needs our stories!

Happy New Year! Did you enjoy your holidays? Did you have a good Christmas? I certainly did! For one thing, I’m officially done with school until I decide to go for my Bachelor’s. However, until then, I’m going to enjoy my accomplishments!

In any case, with a new year comes new resolutions! Of course, I have your standard ones – work out! Be more confident! Be more willing to try out new things! Wear different styles of clothes! But for this context, I want to try to be a little bit more daring… in writing and in reading! Here’s a few resolutions for me to follow. Hopefully, I can actually stick to them this year:

  • Read up to 5 books.
  • Finish writing one novel.
  • Finish a NaNoWriMo!
  • Update this blog a lot more often!

It’s not that much compared to others but I want to put something there that’s a little realistic and actually attainable versus something that I’d want  to do (read a lot, write a lot), but let’s be real here. There’s a huge chance that I’m not even going to be able to do any of them but I do want to be on the right track! Maybe I should post some book reviews if I actually do end up reading… Hm. That way I could kill two birds with one stone!

What are your writing/reading resolutions for the new year?

About Lily

A fujoshi who won't shut up about anime, manga, video games, BJDs, nendoroids, and anime conventions. She apparently can't stop writing either.

  1. I make goals every year having to do with writing, but I rarely reach them. Still, they keep me moving in the right direction, which is the whole point of goals anyway. This year I really do want to finish my story by the end of the year. No matter what. We’ll see.
